About the event
Event emcee Lona Bartlett, storyteller and puppeteer, will welcome everyone with a captivating variation of the timeless Stone Soup Story. This classic story emphasizes themes of community, cooperation, and the power of sharing, will be brought to life through Lona's unique interpretation.
Joining Lona in this kick-off festival event are the talented tellers Adam Booth and Liz Z Pardue, both of whom bring their own rich backgrounds and styles to the stage.
Adam Booth is the 2022 West Virginia Governor’s Arts Awards Folk Artist of the Year. Career highlights include being the featured keynote presenter at the Sydney Australia International Storytelling Conference, being a featured artist for the fourth time at the US National Storytelling Festival, and having his original multidisciplinary program The Heron’s Journey featured on the 2024-2025 Mid Atlantic Arts Touring Roster.
