Breaking Bread
April 27, 2024 – 6:45pm
132 S. Main Street, Woodruff
ONLINE TICKET SALES ARE CLOSED. A LIMITED NUMBER OF IN-PERSON TICKETS ARE FOR SALE AT THE FESTIVAL
Breaking Bread is sure to be one of the most entertaining experiences you will have this year. Join us at the most charming locale in all of Woodruff, Humble Grounds.
Experience a tour of culinary and storytelling delights led by Walter Belcher as you mingle with Festival Headliners, Featured Tellers, and other passionate supporters of the performance art of storytelling.
We will start with a fine selection of wine, beer, coffee, tea, and other drinks, courtesy of Humble Grounds, and spirited conversation and stories.
To highlight the Festival the meal will begin with Soup Shooters, specially created in honor of this year’s festivities. What could be more appropriate? 2024 South Carolina Chef Ambassador Mike Sibert has created a menu that will be just as special as our stories and events. His Creole Tomato Soup will bring a subtle heat, with just enough spice to get your heart pounding. His Italian Wedding Soup will remind you of the wholesome fellowship of family and friends. If you’re looking to break out of the mold and embrace your adventurous side, Chef Sibert’s Asian Inspired Soup will offer lively and distinctive Asian-fusion flavors that will take us on a foodie adventure. Each of these Soup Shooters will be served with a variety of bite-sized breads and crustinis, with vegan and gluten free options available.
Our main course is Chef Sibert’s famous butter herb roasted chicken, accompanied by his signature garlic mashed potatoes. Vegetable bundles with asparagus and roasted baby carrots wrapped in zucchini offer a light springtime treat.
Spicing up the main course will be wit, wisdom, and humor from nationally renowned and multiple award winning Festival Headliner Paul Strickland. As you enjoy your meal, Paul will regale you with homespun humor and down-home profundity as he performs several of his most popular stories.
When you are not sure that there is room for more, let us assure you: there is always room for dessert. There will be a choice of pastries from locally legendary Latin-American bakery El Horno. The decadent sweetness of their desserts will be balanced by the richness of one of Humble Grounds’ signature coffee delights.
What an experience! An evening to remember!
Seating is very limited, so you should not hesitate. We hope you will be able to join us for Breaking Bread.
